A customer reached out needing to irrigate his garden. His initial specs were quite high: a flow rate of 180m³/h and a head of 70m. He was originally set on stainless steel and even wanted an extra pump head as a spare for future repairs.
Initially, we suggested the ISA80-20. It met the 70m requirement perfectly. However, after some back-and-forth, we realized two things:
Since he was just moving clean water, cast iron would do the job just as well while saving him a significant amount of money.
After re-checking his site, he realized 55 meters of head was actually sufficient.
By switching the recommendation to the ISA80-16, we were able to drop the power requirement down to 37kW. The customer ended up saving money on the purchase price and on his future electricity bills. He was so happy with the second version of the solution that he ordered three units on the spot.
