Maintenance of submersible sewage pump



1. Determine the correct direction of rotation of the motor

It should be clear about the rotation direction of the motor. Nowadays, many types of submersible sewage pumps can discharge water during forward rotation and rotation, but the water output is small and the current is large during rotation. If the rotation time is long, the motor winding will be damaged.


2. Prevent abnormal startup of power supply voltage

Because the low-voltage power supply line is relatively long, it is common that the voltage at the end of the line is too low. When the phase voltage is lower than 198 V and the line voltage is lower than 342 V, the speed of the submersible sewage pump motor decreases. When it does not reach 70% of the additional speed, the starting centrifugal switch will be closed, forming that the starting winding will be energized for a long time to generate heat and even burn out the windings and capacitors. On the contrary, too high voltage causes the motor to overheat and burn out the winding. Therefore, during the operation of submersible sewage pump, it is necessary for the operator to investigate the power supply voltage at any time. If it is less than 10% lower than the additional voltage and more than 10% higher than the additional voltage, the motor shall stop the operation, find out the cause and eliminate the fault.


3. Insulation resistance requirements of cable device and submersible sewage pump

When installing submersible sewage pump, the cable shall be overhead and the power line shall not be too long. When the submersible sewage pump is launched or raised, do not force the cable to prevent the power cord from cracking. Do not sink into the mud during submersible pump operation, otherwise it will cause poor heat dissipation of the motor and burn out the motor winding. When installing the device, the insulation resistance of the motor shall not be less than 0.5 megohm.


4. Device for leakage protector

Leakage maintainer is also called life protector. 

Its effect can be understood from the three words' life protector '. Because the submersible sewage pump operates underwater, simple leakage forms power loss and even leads to electric shock. If a leakage maintainer is installed, as long as the leakage value of the submersible sewage pump exceeds the action current value of the leakage maintainer (usually no more than 30 MA), the leakage maintainer will block the power supply of the submersible pump to ensure safety and prevent leakage and waste of electric energy together.


5. Prevent frequent switching

Do not frequently switch on and off the submersible pump, because backflow will occur when the electric pump stops running. If it is started immediately, the motor will be started with load, resulting in excessive starting current and burning out the winding. 6. Do not allow the submersible sewage pump to overload for a long time

In order to prevent the submersible pump from overload operation for a long time, do not pump water with large sand content, and investigate whether the current value is the regular value on the nameplate at any time. If the current is found to be too large, stop the pump for inspection. In addition, the dewatering operation time of the electric pump should not be too long to prevent the motor from overheating and burning.


7. Pay attention to routine maintenance

Always check the motor. If cracks are found on the lower cover, damage or failure of the rubber sealing ring, it shall be replaced or corrected in time to prevent water from entering the submersible pump.
