Sewage Pump Made in China

Apr 08, 2022

Sewage pumps are used to transport sewage and untreated wastewater (e.g. raw wastewater). They are most commonly used in municipal sewage treatment plants, but they are also used in buildings and private homes, which cannot be connected to municipal sewers due to the natural slope of the terrain.

Most sewage treatment systems use the force of gravity to move solids and liquids down the pipeline. However, in some cases, it is necessary to pump sewage up from the septic tank to the urban sewage system. In these cases, the sewage pump has become an indispensable equipment for conveying sewage. This type of pump has one job and only one job: conveying solids and liquids between different positions. Generally, the sewage tank must be located in the lowest area where drainage is required. The pump can be submerged in water and may have to handle some fluid at almost any time.

Submersible sewage pumps are located at the bottom of pools or containers, such as septic tanks. Sewage pump became popular in the early 1960s. At that time, a guide rail system was developed to lift the pump out of the pump station for maintenance, and put an end to sending people to dirty and dangerous sewage pits or wet pits. The growth of submersible pumps for sewage pumping is amazing because the designee understands their advantages. The water inlet of the pump shall be as close to the bottom of the pool as possible, usually at or near the bottom of the equipment. The goal is to drain as much solids and liquids as possible from the pool. However, because there must be a certain space between the bottom plate and the pump, it is impossible to completely discharge the sewage without manual intervention.

Most cities use two disconnected sewer systems, rainwater pipes and sewage pipes. Rainwater pipes collect rainwater and other relatively clean water. These sewers have common drainage grids on urban streets. The system contains Street garbage and dirt, but there is no actual domestic sewage. In many cases, cities simply filter the water to remove garbage or waste and allow it to be discharged into local water sources without treatment. Since the water is relatively clean, this usually has no impact on the environment.

Although the pump mainly deals with liquid, it is sometimes necessary to deal with solids in liquid through the system. Most pumps can handle solids up to 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. Commercial pumps may be able to handle larger items.

Most sewage pumps work in the same way. The floating ball (liquid level switch) is installed on the pump in the same way as the sump pump or even the toilet tank. When the floating ball reaches a certain height, it will start the switch and start the pumping action. When the liquid lowers the floating ball to a certain point, the pump will shut down.

For many residential consumers, the main point is to decide what size pump to buy. They are typically rated at horsepower, mostly between 0.5 HP and 1.0 HP. The size of the pump shall be based on the amount of sewage normally required to be delivered, usually expressed in gallons per hour. In general, domestic sewage pumps can deliver 5500 gallons (20000 liters, about 20 m3) to 8000 gallons (about 30000 liters, about 30 m3) per hour.
