The Reasons Of The Multi-stage Centrifugal Pump Idling And Harm

1:The reasons for multistage centrifugal pump idling:

(1): The inlet medium of the pump is insufficient or the inlet pressure is not enough

(2): The inlet pipe of the pump is blocked

(3): The air in the pump cavity is not exhausted.


2:The hazards of multi-stage centrifugal pump idling:

(1) Because there is a lot of gas in the idling pump, it is easy to cause cavitation and damage the pump body and the overcurrent parts;

(2) The mechanical seal or packing seal is not lubricated by liquid, and dry grinding is extremely easy to cause wear;

(3) The balance disk of the idling multistage centrifugal pump is not lubricated by anyone, and the balance disk will soon be burned to death and damaged;

(4) There is no liquid when the pump is idling, the rotor parts and the pump body will heat up, and the temperature will not be reduced. Thermal expansion and contraction will easily cause some gaps (such as sealing rings) to bite.

3:Multistage centrifugal water pump early warning and maintenance

(1) Special process treatment, tempering, heat treatment, etc. are applied to the shaft of the water pump to increase the hardness, and the material with low flexibility is used to prevent large swings and idling when idling;

(2) Deal with each gap position of the water pump, expand it under the allowable conditions, and prevent biting;

(3) Use closed self-lubricating bearings without oiling;

(4) Use mechanical seals and packing cavities that do not need to rely on liquid media for lubrication;

(5) Set the idling induction system. 

The water pump is monitored in real time through modern equipment. When the centrifugal pump is idling, it immediately alarms and automatically shuts down to protect the safety of the unit.

(6) The pump cavity of the horizontal multistage centrifugal pump has increased volume compared with other centrifugal pumps, and has a place where water can be stored. Before the pump works normally, the cavity must be filled with liquid. Before operation, there is a period of self-priming. During this period, the air is continuously discharged to the outside of the pump. This period of time is partly idling;

(7) Set the idling induction system. 

The water pump is monitored in real time through modern equipment. When the centrifugal pump is idling, it immediately alarms and automatically shuts down to protect the safety of the unit.
