Trouble shooting of slurry pump


1: Slurry pump does not start

First, check the power supply: whether the connector is firmly connected; whether the switch contacts closely; whether the fuse is blown; whether the three-phase power supply is lack of equality. In case of open circuit, poor contact, fuse fusing and phase loss, the cause shall be found out and repaired in time. Secondly,check whether it is the mechanical failure of the pump itself. The common reasons are: the packing is too tight or the impeller and the pump body are blocked by debris; the pump shaft, bearing and leakage reducing ring are rusted; the pump shaft is seriously bent, etc. Troubleshooting: loosen the packing, dredge the water diversion channel; dismantle the pump body to remove debris and rust; dismantle the pump shaft for correction or replace it with a new one.

2:Slurry pump does not operate

The measures to remove the silt can be taken.

3:Insufficient flow of slurry pump

If the impeller or the water inlet and outlet pipes are blocked, the impeller or pipes can be cleaned. If the impeller is severely worn, it should be replaced. If there is air leakage in the packing port, the packing should be compacted.

The speed of the slurry pump power is not matched or the belt slips, which makes the speed low; the installation angle of the axial flow pump blade is too small; the head is insufficient, the pipe is too long or the pipe has a right angle bend; the suction is too high; the foot valve, the pipe and the The impeller is partially blocked or the impeller is defective; the water leakage from the outlet pipe is serious. Exclusion method: restore the rated speed, remove the belt greasy dirt, and adjust the belt tightness; adjust the blade angle, reduce the installation position of the pump, shorten the pipeline or change the bend of the pipeline; seal the leak of the pump, and tighten the packing; clear the blockage Replace the impeller; replace the leakage reducing ring to block the leak.

4: Pump vibrates with noise

There are five main reasons:

① The density of the medium is not uniform.

The uneven density of the medium causes the pump to vibrate when it is just started. When the pump is turned on normally, the vibration of the pump will disappear. This situation does not need to be handled, just before driving, pay attention to blowing the medium with high pressure air;

② The installation of the pump is not level.

Check the level of the pump body during installation and operation.

③ There is cavitation, which makes the impeller of the pump unbalanced. The installation height should be reduced, the outlet valve should be reduced, and the inlet resistance should be reduced.

④ The air intake of the suction pipe is uneven.

The feeding situation of the pump should be improved to enhance the uniform stability of the intake air. ⑤ Pump bearing clearance is large. Excessive bearing clearance results in large pump vibration. In the daily equipment operation, pay attention to the situation of the pump at any time. It is found that the pump shaft and the motor shaft are misaligned or the bearing is damaged.

5:Slurry pump does not absorb medium

There is air in the pump body or gas accumulation in the inlet pipe, or the bottom valve is not tightly closed, the water is not fully filled, the vacuum pump packing is leaking, and the gate valve or the flapper is not closed properly.

Method of exclusion:

(1): First press the water up, then fill the pump body with water, and then turn on the pump.

(2): At the same time, check whether the check valve is tight and whether there is air leakage in the pipelines and joints. If air leakage is found, apply grease or paint to the joints after disassembly and tighten the screws.

(3): Check the oil seal ring of the pump shaft, if it is worn out, replace it with a new one.

(4): Water leak or air leak in the pipeline. The nut may not be tightened during installation.

(5): If the leakage is not serious, apply cement to the place where the air leaks or leaks, or apply cement paste mixed with asphalt oil.

(6): For temporary repairs, apply some wet mud or soft soap.

(7): If there is water leakage at the joint, you can use a wrench to tighten the nut. If the water leakage is serious, you must reassemble and replace the cracked pipe; lower the head and press the nozzle of the pump into the water for 0.5m.

6:Leakage at packing

(1): If the axis of the shaft is different from the loading box, the main reason is that the processing error is large and the installation is incorrect.

(2): Pay attention to check whether the installation is correct after installation.

(3): If the seal water ring is severely worn, it needs to be replaced with a new water ring.

(4): If the sealing water pipe is blocked, the sealing water cannot enter the middle of the packing, causing the packing to wear quickly, resulting in material leakage. The blocked water pipes should be dredged, and the sealed water should be kept clean.

7:Slurry pump heating

the reason:

(1): The bearing is damaged;

(2): The gap between the rolling bearing or the bracket cover of the slurry pump is too small;

(3): The pump shaft is bent or the two shafts are not concentric;

(4): The tape is too tight; oil shortage or oil quality is not good;

(5): The balance hole on the impeller is blocked, and the impeller loses its balance, increasing the thrust to one side.

Method of exclusion:

(1): Replace the bearing;

(2): Remove the back cover and install a gasket between the bracket and the bearing seat;

(3): Investigate the pump shaft or adjust the concentricity of the two shafts;

(4): loosen the tightness of the tape properly;

(5): Fill with clean butter, butter accounts for about 60% of the gap in the bearing;

(6): Clear the obstruction in the balance hole.

8: Matching power motor overheated

(1): The reason for power supply:

A: The voltage of the slurry pump is too high or too low. Under certain loads, if the voltage range should be outside the + 10% to -5% of the rated value, the motor will overheat;

B: The three-phase voltage of the power supply is asymmetric. The phase-to-phase imbalance of the three-phase power voltage of the power supply is more than 5%, which will lead to overheating of the windings. The lack of phase operation has shown that more than 85% of the agricultural motor is burned due to lack of phase operation. Install phase loss protection.

 (2): Reasons for water pump:

A: If the power is not matched, the small horse-drawn cart, the motor is overloaded for a long time, and the temperature of the motor is too high;

B: Motors that start too frequently and are rated for short-term or intermittent duty work continuously. Should limit the number of starts, the correct selection of thermal protection, according to the rated value on the motor.

 (3): The reason of the motor itself:

A: The connection is wrong. The △ shape is wrongly connected to the Y shape, which causes the temperature of the motor to rise rapidly.

B: The stator winding has phase-to-phase short circuit, inter-turn short circuit, or local grounding. The motor is locally overheated when it is light, and the insulation is burned out in severe cases;

C: The squirrel-cage rotor is broken or defective, and the temperature of the iron core rises rapidly when the motor runs for 1 to 2 hours; if the ventilation system fails, check whether the fan is damaged, the rotation direction is correct, and whether the ventilation hole of the slurry pump is blocked;

D: Bearing wear and eccentric breeching of the rotor make the iron core phase of the stator and rotor emit metal impact sound. The temperature of the iron core rises rapidly. In severe cases, the motor smokes and the coil burns out.

(4): Reasons for working environment:

A: The motor winding is damp or dust, oil, etc. are attached to the winding, causing the insulation to decrease.

B: The insulation resistance of the motor should be measured and cleaned and dried;

C: The ambient temperature is too high.

D: When the ambient temperature exceeds 35 ° C, the inlet air temperature is too high, which will make the temperature of the motor too high. Try to improve its working environment.

E: Such as awning.

 Attention: If there is a failure due to electrical reasons, you should ask a qualified electrician to repair it. People who know nothing about it should not repair it blindly to prevent personal injury accidents.

9: Bearing heating

There are five main reasons:

① The cold water is not turned on or the cooling water tank is blocked, the cooling water function should be turned on or the cooling water channel should be unblocked.

② The equipment is not well lubricated. The amount of lubricant should be adjusted according to the instructions.

③ The lubricant is not clean and there are impurities in the oil. Bearings should be cleaned and lubricated.

④ Thrust bearing is not in the correct direction. Adjust the thrust bearing direction according to the inlet pressure.

⑤ The air outlet of the bearing is blocked, which causes the hot air in the bearing box to not be exhausted, which increases the temperature of the equipment. The air outlet should be cleaned.

10: Short bearing life

There are four main reasons:

① The motor shaft is not symmetrical or parallel to the pump shaft. The motor shaft or pump shaft shall be adjusted. If the shaft is deformed or bent, replace the shaft directly.

② Improper bearing assembly. Reassemble the bearing and shaft, or replace the bearing.

③ There is friction in the pump or the impeller is out of balance. Remove the friction or replace the impeller with a new one.

④ Poor lubrication. If there are too few impurities, the bearing life will be short. The bearing should be taken out and cleaned before use.
